Day 1 Spitok - Zinchen
You will be brought to the monastery of Spituk, one of the most important monasteries in Ladakh. Here the trek begins with a walk of about 7 hours to the village Zinchen (3400 meters). You walk in the direction of Rumbak to an altitude of 3750 meters to get used to the to the higher alltitude.
Day 2 Zinchen - Yurutse
It's four hours hiking to the base camp of the Gandan la pass. You pass the town of Yurutse existing on only one house where you camp at 4120 meters altitude.Day 3 Yurutse - Skiu / via Gandan La
A tough day for about 7 hours walking, where you first have to conquer the Gandan La pass (4875 m). The climb takes about three hours and then a long descent begins through a gorge with several small streams to the village of Skiu, located at 3400 meters.Day 4 Skiu - Markha
A relatively flat walk of about 7 hours along a river. You will pass some villages, the river must be crossed using some bridges and possibly wade through when the bridges are broken. You will camp along the river at about 3,700 metersDay 5 Markha - Thachungste
You have to ascent today for about 6 hours. You can visit the Umlung monastery and Hankar village. You can camp at Thachungste at about 4150 meters. The final piece is pretty tough.
Day 6 Thachungtse - Nimaling
An easy day in preparation already for tomorrow. Only three hours of walking, with a litle gain in altitude it is. You walk along a lake and several maniwalls until you can camp at 4700 meters.Day 7 Nimaling - Shang Sumdo via Kongmaru la
Today you have to climb the Kongmaru la pass (5125 meters), a steep climb of about two hours, followed by a long descent through a gorge-like valley; until you are at 3700 meters near the village of Shang Sumdo. From here you will brought back by jeep to Leh.Reis boeken?
